PERSONALITY: Reno is a sweetheart as well as kind hearted guy. However he is also very naive and innocent and that puts him in bad situation, but the problem is no matter how much he tries to change that about himself he just can't. No one can. Reno is a hopeless romantic, but it doesn't mean that all he cares for is romance, he also cares about keeping criminals off the streets. He falls in love to easily during the times he is undercover to catch bad guys, but he doesn't do that deliberately. Yet he still ends up promising them that he will be back to them after all of it is over or at least he would try to. That way slowly there are a lots of females waiting for him to come back to them. Reno does feel bad for them and tries not to make too many promises, but they take what he says as a promise either way. He doesn't know how to avoid situations like that as he hates hurting people just as much as he hates make promises he can't make.
He is also fun loving and adventurous, not to mention caring as well as over protective Reno is also a bit wild, but not the kind of guy to sleep with every girl he sees, he is also not in to parties. Reno loves to go camping but then again this days he has no choice, but camping because he lost his home. He is sensitive as well as very stubborn/headstrong and also funny even when he tries to be and even if not. Reno acts like a father to people who are a lot younger than him, like kids or younger adults, but if it helps then he doesn't do it intentionally, it just happens even if he tries not to and at times it gets that people annoyed at him. He hates liars, but his life makes him a liar to most people around him even if he doesn't want nor like it, but not all people like Bobby and Chey who know the real him. Which he doubts that they ever will because not many give him a chance as well as because it takes so long to prove that he is innocent.
However Reno tries not to lie about to many things even if it's not easy for him to do. He is also blunt honest at certain situation which makes him hated to some people, but not all. Even if Reno hates hurting people it is still something he can't avoid even if he tries to. Reno doesn't always listens to reason even so he knows he needs to. Not to mention he isn't very good in detecting a lie but it doesn't happen to often since he used to be a good cop and now he is a good bounty hunter. Which means sooner or later he does find out the truth, but not always on time so even if he does try to find it on time. However, even when he doesn't find it before someone gets hurt doesn't mean that he doesn't manage to stop others from getting hurt so.

HISTORY:
Reno was born to Mr. and Mrs. Raines and he is the younger brother of Mitch Raines. Growing up, he was like any other kid his age, he loved certain things and acted certain way, but he was always a good guy. His brother used to train him with martial arts since he was a kid until his brother went back to the army and never came back, everyone believed he died so no one bothered to look for him. Not to long after the 'death' of his older brother his mother died. Reno took it hard and blamed it on himself as most kids his age do at situations like that even if it wasn't true.
When he was the right age he went to the army and became a ranger. However in one of the missions he was wounded and was taken to a specific hospital. That way he met his first girlfriend Janet, but their relationship didn't last long. First and for most he healed and was sent back, but at that time he was still keeping in contact. Through phone and male until their five minutes call got disconnected and there was no way contacting her, as well as no more mail came from her. Then, he got all her letters, but he sent nothing back because there wasn't any new address to send the replies to.
After the army Reno enrolled to the police Academy. Over time became one of the best cops known in San Diego. The place he was born. One day he met Valerie Prantice whom he called Val, the two fell in love and became a couple. Reno came with Val to Bay City so he will finish his last case since they were engaged to be married and he promised her he will quit and they will have a normal life. Yet, unfortunately it never happened as he testified against bad cops who tried to kill him, but got his fiance' Val instead.
As one of the main crooked cops went to investigate another came there and shot him with Reno's gun. From that day he became a vigilante. The cops are still looking for him until that day as they believe that he is guilty and that he is a murderer and a cop killer. Meanwhile the cop who killed the other cop and framed him for it, went to Bobby Sixkiller and his sister's Cheyenne Phillips who are bounty hunters and asked them to look for Reno and bring him in. As they went after him. They caught him eventually, but he ended up saving their lives and from that day on they became partners and they never turned him over to the cops
