The year is 2025 and the Earth is in ruins, divided up among three major organizations. However one stands above the rest like a shining beacon in the sky. With farthest advances not only in science and technology they have the resources to do as they wish without anyone getting in their way. So they sent off to seal off a part of the Earth. Which is all of the United States or what remains of the country. They put up a large force field over the country, which cannot be breached by anything and able to repair itself from attack. There they re-grew, plants and animals brought back like to the ruins of what was. Buildings are simple homes that help refuse and keep the community healthy.
Instead of repopulating with remaining humans they built a device called the Gateway of the Future. The Gateway or GTF can be programmed to snatch people from their reality and time and brought into this reality and time. At first they were only picking from the best but soon they realized that they would need a balance of life so they started to randomly pick beings from various times and places and brought them to the community that they call North Star.
Once there, they are held within the confinement building where the building make sure they don’t bring any unwanted disease or weapons. The only technology in the building is that for recreating food that they are used to, medical technology and those for keeping the community growing and becoming more than what it is.
